MAYOR MZINDLE CONGRATULATES THE MATRIC CLASS OF 2025 AND COMMENDS KWAZULU-NATAL’S OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE
The Mayor of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, Cllr PZ Mzindle, extends her warmest congratulations to the Matric Class of 2025 for their resilience, determination, and commendable achievements in the National Senior Certificate examinations.
The Mayor further applauds the KwaZulu-Natal Province for attaining the number one position nationally, achieving an impressive 90.6% pass rate. This outstanding performance is a testament to the collective commitment, discipline, and hard work of learners, educators, parents, and the broader education sector.
Cllr Mzindle also congratulates the Ugu District, which secured position four in the province with an excellent pass rate of 91.8%. This achievement reflects the dedication of schools within the district and reinforces Ugu’s growing contribution to educational excellence in the province.
“We are immensely proud of our learners who have succeeded under demanding circumstances. Your achievement is not only personal but a victory for your families, schools, communities, and the entire province,” said Mayor Mzindle.
To learners who did not achieve the desired outcomes, the Mayor delivered a message of encouragement and hope, emphasising that this moment does not define their future.
“This is not the end of the road. Life offers multiple pathways to success. I encourage you to rise again, seek support, explore available opportunities such as supplementary examinations, skills development, and alternative education routes, and continue striving for your dreams,” she said.
The Mayor also congratulated all learners who will be transitioning to tertiary institutions, urging them to remain disciplined, focused, and adaptable as they enter a new phase of their academic journey.
“As you step into higher education, remember that you carry the hopes of your families and communities. Conduct yourselves responsibly, embrace diversity, and commit to personal growth and excellence,” she added.
Cllr Mzindle expressed sincere appreciation to the leadership of the Department of Education, education officials, school management teams, educators, and support staff for their unwavering commitment to learner success. She further acknowledged the vital role played by parents and guardians, whose guidance, sacrifice, and encouragement remain the foundation of learner achievement.
The Mayor concluded by calling on communities, institutions, and stakeholders to continue supporting learners who did not pass, ensuring that no young person is left behind.
"Together, let us build a caring and supportive environment that nurtures resilience, restores confidence, and opens doors to second chances for our young people,” she said.
