The municipality would like to alert the public about the ongoing problems in the application and issuing of learner’s and driving licences that are affecting operations at Driving Licence Testing Centres (DLTCs) across the country.

Members of the public are informed of the challenges experienced by our Port Shepstone DLTC of not being able to connect to the Live Enrolment Unit (LEU) server. This problem which started yesterday 10 February 2020 is due to the floods experienced by Gauteng Province. This problem of connectivity affects all DLTCs across the country.

The LEUs are used to perform eye tests for learner’s and driving licence applications and card renewals and without these eye tests applications cannot be completed. Management of our DLTC is in constant contact with the National Department of Transport however there is no indication as to how long this problem will persist and the inconvenience caused is regrettable.
