The Municipality would like to unconditionally and sincerely apologise to the residents for the inconvenience caused by the interrupted services last month.

This was as a result of almost all Depot 1 Supervisors taking sick leave from 20 to 24 May 2019 and that led to the interruption of services. It is also alleged that when they reported for duty on the 27th of May 2019 they did not spend all the required 8 hours a day to dispose the backlog. This in itself led to residents experiencing the same inconvenience they went through the previous week though the workforce at Depot 1 was in full capacity.

In ensuring that service delivery is restored the Municipal Manager placed 2 Managers and one other employee on precautionary suspension while the matter is being investigated. In the meantime, Mr Patrick Sithole whose contact details are 039-6882151 and will manage the Depot while Mr Gary Mangoes with the contact details 039-6882151  will manage refuse and street cleaning section pending the outcome of the investigation.

We plead for patience and understanding for any minor challenges that may occur during this time and would like to ensure residents that the municipality is taking the matter with the seriousness it deserves.
